A 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck elements of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), together with Peshawar and Muzaffarabad, on Thursday, inflicting worry and panic amongst residents.

Based on the Nationwide Seismic Monitoring Centre in Islamabad, the earthquake’s epicentre was within the border area between Afghanistan and Tajikistan at a depth of 212 kilometres.
