MOSCOW:
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday known as on Ukrainian troops preventing within the Kursk area to give up, after US President Donald Trump urged him to “spare” the lives of Ukrainian troopers.
Trump and Putin stated that the Russian military had Ukrainian forces surrounded there — claims rejected by Kyiv, whilst President Volodymyr Zelensky conceded that his forces have been coming underneath rising stress.
Russia has mounted a speedy counteroffensive during the last week, recapturing swathes of land and settlements within the western border area from Ukraine.
“We’re sympathetic to President Trump’s name,” Putin stated in televised remarks.
“In the event that they lay down their arms and give up, they are going to be assured life and dignified therapy,” he added.
“With the intention to successfully implement the US president’s name, (there must be) a corresponding order from Ukraine’s military-political management to its army to put down their arms and give up,” Putin added.
In a publish on his Fact Social platform, Trump had appealed to Putin over what he stated have been “1000’s” of Ukrainian troops “utterly surrounded by the Russian army, and in a really unhealthy and weak place”.
