PTI challenges SC Follow, Process Modification Ordinance in prime courtroom

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday challenged the Supreme Courtroom (Follow and Process) Modification Ordinance 2024 within the prime courtroom, urging for it to be declared “unconstitutional”.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan lodged the constitutional plea, requesting the SC to “annul” and declare all the selections of the Follow and Process Committee — since approval of the ordinance — “unlawful”.

The newly-formed Follow and Process Committee must be stopped from work so long as the constitutional petition is pending, mentioned the petition, including that the outdated committee must be allowed to operate in the course of the petition in opposition to the ordinance.

The PTI petition has been filed every week after the president and federal authorities authorised the much-debated ordinance.
