Bannu Erupts: Govt Blames PTI for Protest Violence

The federal government has criticized the PTI-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for politicizing the recent incident in Bannu on 26 ^{th} Mai 2017. From the source Aaj News, they have accused their counterparts in PTI of participating in a protest demo that caused the deaths of civilians.

Talking to the media during a press club in Islamabad, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar blamed PTI for creating an invoice in that peaceful protest in Bannu. He accused some persons within the rally of shooting, causing the deaths and injuries.

Tarar refuted the incident whose real video was released later on the internet and criticized PTI Chairman Imran Khan for not condemning the act and propagating wrong news of firing directly on protesters. He also accused PTI of presenting some photos of children from another country of the incident of being attacked in Bannu.

The minister had some questions about neutrality in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s probe into the matter, where the PTI protesting could have influenced on its investigation.

This protest rally was conducted by the trader community of Bannu in order to get the authorities up to perform their duties on the effective eradication of armed groups in Bannu and its surrounding regions.

Tarar further said that though the situation in Bannu is improving, some certain political elements want to use the event for their political mileage and pop wrongly. The PTI has refuted such allegations it categorically dismissed the federal government’s accusations of their complicity in the act of violence.
