The Pakistan Tax Bar Affiliation (PTBA) on Saturday wrote a letter to the chairman of the Nationwide Meeting Standing Committee on Finance and Income, expressing severe considerations over the alleged misuse of public funds.
Citing Article 19A of the Structure, which ensures residents’ proper to entry to info, the PTBA demanded readability on how taxpayers’ cash is being utilised. Within the letter, the PTBA alleged that taxpayers’ cash is being spent irresponsibly, with little regard for its correct use.
The affiliation particularly criticised expenditures on overseas visits by authorities delegations, stating that such practices discourage taxpayers, undermine tax assortment efforts, and contribute to a declining nationwide exchequer.
The PTBA additionally sounded alarm over the rising non-development expenditures and elevated budgetary allocations for presidency worker salaries.
