“Biden and Jordan’s King Abdullah Push for Urgent Gaza Ceasefire and Aid Boost”

On Friday, the White House said that US President Joe Biden and Jordan’s King Abdullah have talked about ways to restore the cease of the fight in Gaza. Biden informed Abdullah about the ideas to improve the quota of humanitarian aid in the course of the cease-fire and discussed the Palestinian Authority’s reforms and the ways to defend its revenues.

Jordan’s royal palace said the conversation focused on the ‘evolution of threats in Gaza’ with the focus of His Majesty King Abdullah II on the need for the US to chart a political solution that will make lasting peace with Palestine on the basis of the two-state solution feasible.

On Tuesday, Biden spoke with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel pushing him to agree on the ceasefire deal and free hostage detainees. The White House also said that Biden underlined the necessity of shutting such gaps, sealing the deal in the shortest possible time, releasing the hostages, and achieving a sustainable end to the conflict. There are directions to the humanitarian crisis and also to fulfill the task of delivering assistance to the affected populations.

The operations in which Gaza was attacked started over nine months ago after the Hamas attack on October 7 the conflict has claimed many lives. The attack killed 1,197 people in Israel mostly civilians, although Hamas has captured many hostages of which there are currently 111 in Gaza with the Israel military stating 39 have died.
