Musk has declared that he decided to move the headquarters of two more of his companies, the social media platform X and SpaceX which deals in rockets from California to Texas, due to what he described as the last straw; the new gender-identity law in the state of California.
This process implies that Musk who supported Republican candidate Donald Trump for the US president last week, will have relocated Tesla and the majority of other firms to Texas.
Musk, currently the world’s richest man, relocated his personal residence from California to Texas in the fiscal year 2021 in which there are no personal income taxes.
Musk said this was due to a new California law that barred school districts from forcing teachers to disclose or report if any child transitioned to a different gender or was bisexual. He said that this and previous laws are “encroaching on families and companies. ”
That is why after he bought X, formerly Twitter, in 2022, Musk, who has a transgender daughter, explained his choice.
Over the last few years, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla has been especially active in voicing his opinions on politics, consistently expressing disagreement with the Democrat administration’s policies and statements, especially in the case of the Biden presidency, the company’s CEO has been prominently noticeable when it comes to expressing his opposition to the administration’s views on such areas as the rights of the transsexuals, as well as immigration.
While California is believed to mostly vote for Democratic presidential candidates, Texas is known to stick more to the Republicans.
This he said would entail SpaceX’s main office to relocate to an existing facility in Boca Chica, Texas while X will be transferred to Austin. Nevertheless, the number of jobs or the number of facilities that will be transferred from California to Texas remains undisputed.
SpaceX at present operates a massive facility in the Los Angeles area in which thousands of employees are involved in building the Falcon 9 rocket, Dragon astronaut capsules, and Starshield satellites.
Musk this year relocated Tesla’s HQ from California to Texas , however, he stated the previous year that California would remain Tesla’s engineering center.
He registered SpaceX in Texas from Delaware earlier this year, after a Delaware judge canned Musk’s $56 billion compensate package at Tesla.
