Bangladesh has put in place a curfew and military forces, after days of violence that the police could not contain. The recent violent conflict between student protesters and the police has claimed the lives of at least 105 people so far, this has been established from different hospitals. This brings a huge question mark for the government of the incumbent Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who has been in power for the past 15 years.

Government spokesperson Nayeemul Islam Khan said the greetings would be implemented over the night and more than the military would support the civil administration. In the capital Dhaka, police chief Habibur Rahman outlawed all public assemblies for to avoid more unrest – that was the first time since the demonstrations started. However, Pentic said that violent standoffs between the police and protesters continued throughout the city that had 20 million residents, even in the fight, protesters were awarded that the internet connection was blocked to hamper the organization of protests.

Sarwar Tushar of the protesters who was brutally assaulted during a protest march in Dhaka asserts that the protests will go on regardless of police brutality. Intensification demonstrates the huge conflict and the inability of the government to bring the situation under control amid the population’s resistance.
