Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb in a virtual meeting discussed the ongoing economic situation with Johanna Chua, Head of Global Emerging Markets Economics at Citi Global Markets along with other partners and investors from around the globe, said a press release on Thursday.
In the course of the discussion, the finance minister outlined Pakistan’s economic picture and what the country has achieved in terms of stabilization and growth in the past one-and-a-half years. He further said that this progress has awakened the appetite of both investors and lenders about Pakistan.
Senator Aurangzeb pointed out that the current economy of Pakistan is promising with major reforms being carried across leading sectors for sustainable macroeconomic stability. He also emphasized the positive implications of the choice of Pakistan to obtain a $7 billion IMF program stating that it was also a positive step toward maintaining stability and introducing structural changes.
