Fire Erupts on Two Oil Tankers Near Pedra Branca

On Friday morning, a fire occurred on two oil tankers approximately 55 km NE of Pedra Branca, to the east of Singapore. Singapore’s Maritime Port Authority (MPA) said that the fire was first noticed at 6 . 15am, local time (2215 Greenwich Mean Time).

Details of the Incident

The fire engaged Singapore’s Hafnia Nile and Sao Tome and Principe’s Ceres I tankers; the MPA requested passing vessels to assist in searching for the crews of the sunken vessels.

Response Efforts
