Hammad Azhar Resigns as PTI Punjab President Due to Internal Issues

Summary:

On Thursday, Hammad Azhar, a lightweight in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), said he was tendering his services as the PTI’s president for Punjab. He blamed internal pressure and the inability to meet the party leader, Imran Khan, for his move.

Details:

After leaving X, now Twitter, Azhar complained that he could not contact Imran Khan and said he could not make decisions within the Punjab organization. He also admitted that he has restricted mobility, which he said means that he cannot go and see Imran Khan who is in Adiala Jail at the moment.

Azhar also complained about internal palace intrigue within the party, saying that decisions were being made without necessary consultation and vital information was not being relayed to Khan. He cited the recent sacking of Lahore President Chaudhry Asghar as an example, which he says was done based on incorrect information at best.

However, Azhar insisted that he remained a PTI and Imran Khan man and would remain loyal to the party and the party’s leader. Azhar is a resident of Faisalabad city of Punjab province but since May 9, he has been absconding and police have registered cases against him in several cities of Punjab and Islamabad.
