
ISLAMABAD: Human rights activist and lawyer Imaan Zainab Mazari and her husband have been engaged in a scuffle with visitors police after they tried to take away the street blockades positioned for the visiting England group’s visitors protocol.
The English group is in Pakistan for a three-match Check collection, with the final match being performed in Rawalpindi cricket stadium.
Sources instructed Geo Information that the incident occurred at Islamabad Zero Level Interchange within the morning when the groups have been being transported to the stadium.
Mazari’s husband thrashed policemen, abused them and threatened them with dire penalties, the sources added.
In the meantime, the Islamabad police mentioned that the couple had violated the usual working procedures (SOPs) of state company. They added {that a} case could be filed in opposition to the suspects for “interfering within the authorities’s issues and jeopardising the safety of state company”.
Chatting with Geo Information, Imaan claimed that she had not violated any legislation, including: “Nobody can cease me from crossing the street.”
“The state, every time it needs, locations street blockades,” she mentioned, including that she was in a rush to achieve courtroom. “No pressure can cease me from my skilled responsibility,” she remarked.
