ISLAMABAD: Outstanding human rights lawyer Imaan Mazari and her husband have been arrested within the federal capital, Geo Information reported on Monday, citing sources.
The sources added that Mazari and her husband, Abdul Hadi, have been arrested in a case registered at Aabpara Police Station regarding interference in authorities operations.
The arrest of Mazari, the daughter of former federal minister Shireen Mazari, comes days after she and her partner engaged in a scuffle with site visitors police following their tried to take away the street blockades positioned for the visiting England crew’s site visitors protocol.
The English crew was in Pakistan for a three-match Check collection and the final match was performed in Rawalpindi cricket stadium.
The incident occurred at Islamabad Zero Level Interchange within the morning when the groups have been being transported to the stadium.
Mazari’s husband thrashed policemen, abused them and threatened them with dire penalties, the sources added.
Whereas Mazari claimed that she was in a rush as she needed to attain courtroom, Islamabad police stated that the couple had violated the usual working procedures (SOPs) of state friends and warned of submitting a case.
