Monsoon Mayhem: Torrential Rains Devastate AJK and KPK

Many areas in AJK and KPK have been damaged due to heavy monsoon rains and the road structure is majorly affected. Many main roads have been destroyed by landslides and floods which has left many residents and tourists stranded in the area.

The landslide caused by these rains in AJK made the Muzaffarabad-Kohala road affecting communication with Pakistan. Torrential floods also swept away a bridge in the Mahandri area of Mansehra district and thousands of people including visitors were marooned in the beautiful valleys of Naran and Kaghan.

As a result, PM Pakistan has ordered the NDMA and NHA to mobilize all available resources to reopen these important roads and to evacuate people who got stuck on them.
