National Assembly Session Adjourned Due to Lack of Quorum

On Tuesday one of the opposition members objected saying there was no quorum therefore the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah called it a house session until Friday.

This particular session with a planned sitting from 11:30 AM attracted few people in the house, the majority of who are lawmakers, and ministers not included, and arrived even an hour later. The Deputy Speaker used the opportunity to give his sentiments over the latest display of members’ interest in the business of;

As the Deputy Speaker allowed Naveed Qamar to speak on a Calling Attention notice, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi of the PTI-backed Sunni Ittehad Council noted that there was no quorum. The Deputy Speaker ordered names to be called but the house was out of order thus, imposed an adjournment till 10. 30 am on Friday.

Earlier, Minister for Law and Justice, Azam Nazeer Tarar raised a point of order in which he complained about the absence of ministers who were supposed to be present. He also said that it has been said by the Prime Minister that they should be present somewhere and due to the National Assembly session he also postponed the cabinet meeting which was supposed to be held in the morning.
