Jinnah International Airport Karachi has scanned passengers of 22 flights in the last 24 hours to stop the spread of Congo and monkeypox viruses. The airport’s focal person, Dr Syed Zafar Mehdi, assured that no passengers had monkeypox or even symptoms of it during the screening.
The provincial health minister said that over 20 doctors and paramedics have been deployed at the airport for surveillance. Rooms specifically for handling such patients have been made available, and the medical crews are on standby round the clock to tackle the problem.
