Three terrorists were eliminated Tuesday night as security forces foiled their bid to infiltrate the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the Dir district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations said. It said that the terrorists were busy in exchange for a volley of fire and later on, they were eliminated on Monday.
Pakistan has continually been urging the Interim Afghan Government to secure cross-border areas from their end and has always cited the need to ensure that terrorists are not able to use Afghanistan as a launching pad against Pakistan. ISPR again in the brief stated, “Pakistan armed forces shall not allow anyone to undermine the security of Pakistan and will continue to fight till terrorism is eradicated from the country”.
The matter of concern is Cross Border Terrorism. Last week the Foreign Office invited the Afghan representative to the embassy due to an act of terrorism in the Bannu cantonment conducted by the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group. A stiff protest was registered and the request was made to the Pakistani ambassador to deliver a message of the severity of Pakistan to the Afghan Government.
While emphasizing its point Pakistan said that the Afghan Taliban authorities are well aware of the locations of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and other terrorist groups, it is high time that Kabul takes some tangible actions in this regard.
Despite this militant attack on Pakistan, Pakistan has been discussing its ‘intelligence dossier’ of the groups and individuals involved in terror attacks inside Pakistan with Afghan authorities in the last several months when the two countries agreed to share intelligence, an official of the foreign office, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, told during the weekly press briefing. On the incident of increased terrorist attacks and the possible actions by Pakistan, Baloch responded.
