It was on Sunday that the Pakistan team achieved their first win in the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2024 match by thrashing Nepal by 9 wickets at Dambulla, Sri Lanka.
At the beginning of the tournament, Pakistan faced a lot of pressure with their defeat at the hands of India but after that, Pakistan outplayed its opponents in all the departments of cricket. Nida Dar captain of the team won the toss and decided to field first and her team restricted Nepal to 108/6 in their twenty overs. Sadia Iqbal bowled well and took two wickets for 19 on the board and Fatima Sana took one wicket for 24 on the board. Three Nepali batters were also run out.
As a result, Pakistan achieved the given target in 11. 5 overs significantly well with the help of Gul Feroza who scored 57 off 35 with 10 fours only. Muneeba Ali also came useful scoring an invaluable 46 which was not threatened by anyone in the last section.
In this tournament, the earlier moment was when Nepal defeated the UAE and acquired their maiden triumph in the Asia Cup. Pakistan will play in the UAE in the last group match on Tuesday.
