PIA Concludes Hajj Exercise 2024, Brings Back 34,779 Passengers

Positive The successfully completed Hajj operation of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to Saudi Arabia has brought back 34,663 pilgrims for the year 2024.

The operation period started on May 9, 2024, and ended on July 21, 2024, giving a total of seventy-four days. The first phase of the pre-Hajj promotion period was up to June 11 while the second phase of the post-Hajj promotion period was between June 20 and July 21. During the post-Hajj period, PIA was involved in 143 flights, out of them 61 flights came to and 82 went to Madinah.

A PIA spokesman reveals that a total of 34,663 people were transported in these flights to Pakistan. Among them, 19,278 came through the MOH and 14,754 were airlifted by the private Hajj charter operators while 631 were Khadams, that is, those who served in support roles. For efficient organization, PIA also started city check-ins, which helped in sorting queues of pilgrims at the airport.
