LAHORE: A uncommon breed marsh crocodile was recovered by the Punjab Wildlife and Parks Division authorities throughout a raid in opposition to unlawful smugglers in Kasur district, Geo Information reported. 

The crackdown was launched as per Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s directives.

The 7-feet-long seized reptile is priced at tens of millions of rupees within the worldwide market and its meat and pores and skin is illegally bought overseas. 

Authorities stated {that a} case was registered in opposition to the suspected smuggler concerned within the unlawful commerce of the animals and the recovered croc was shifted to the Gatwala Wildlife Breeding Centre. 

Senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb lauded the efforts of wildlife division for the safety of animals. 

“The safety of animal rights is being ensured within the province for the primary time,” she stated whereas shedding gentle on the significance of wildlife preservation that performs an important position in sustaining the ecosystem.
