Safe No More? Islamabad Residents Fearful as Crimes Soar

During the previous week, the capital city saw an eminent ascent in vehicle lifting and road violations, with more than 80 carjackings and 24 episodes of cell phone and money grabbing detailed across different police headquarters.

As per information from Business Recorder:

  • Burglary and Dacoity: 17 burglary cases, including theft, and 11 dacoity cases were accounted for.
  • Carjacking: Out of the 80 carjacking occurrences, 70 involved bikes and 10 included vehicles.

Crimes were especially high in the region under the locale of Khanna, Ramna, Aabpara, Sumbal, Kohsar, and Tarnol police headquarters:

  • Aabpara Police Station:
  • 2 vehicles and 8 bikes were taken.
  • Absolute vehicle robberies added up to 10.
  • Khanna Police Station:
  • 9 bikes were taken.
  • 9 auto burglaries and 6 road violations were accounted for.
  • Secretariat Police Station:
  • 6 cruisers were taken.
  • 6 vehicle lifting episodes happened.
  • Tarnol Police Station:
  • 6 bikes were taken.
  • 6 auto burglaries and 1 burglary were accounted for.
  • Ramna Police Station:
  • 5 carjackings.
  • 3 road violations and 3 thefts were accounted for.
  • Sumbal Police Station:
  • 3 burglaries.
  • 1 dacoity.
  • 3 road wrongdoings.
  • 2 vehicle burglaries.
  • Kohsar Police Station:
  • 5 vehicles, including 2 bikes, were taken.
  • 2 occurrences including outfitted people.
  • 1 house burglary.

Furthermore, Lohi Bher police headquarters revealed 4 auto robberies and 3 road violations.

This spike in crimes shows a requirement for further developed safety efforts and more powerful policing the impacted regions.
