Sindh govt strikes to amend regulation to supervise affairs of instructional boards

KARACHI: The provincial authorities on Saturday determined to amend the Sindh Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Schooling Ordinance, 1972 for the 14th time. 

The assembly of the reforms committee was attended by Sindh Minister of Schooling Syed Sardar Ali Shah, chief secretary, secretaries of boards and others.

The amendments have been proposed for the equitable composition of the board, enhancement of powers of the controlling authority and structure of a steering committee to supervise the affairs of the boards. 

Underneath the present regulation, the Sindh authorities or its nominated consultant is known as the controlling authority. In the meantime, the brand new regulation proposes that the controlling authority of all boards would be the Sindh chief minister or his designated consultant. 

Underneath proposed amendments in Part 11, the controlling authority has been mandated with to permit or in any other case to a board to increase any profit, privilege, allowance or concession to any particular person working in reference to the affairs of the board. 

The controlling authority can be authorised to take away the chairman of the board from workplace and may appoint a Grade 19 or 20 officer because the chairman briefly. 

The committee, which shall be headed by Minister or Advisor or Particular Assistant to the Chief Minister, for Universities & Boards (Chairman), can be constituted:

  • To coordinate and harmonise the features of all boards to unify selections on syllabi, evaluation, expertise integration, trainer coaching associated to exams and evaluation, and institutional recognition.
  • To conduct common inspections by means of its authorised representatives;
  • To make sure administrative, monetary and operational compliance of the boards in accordance with the directions issued by authorities.
