Magnitude 5.2 earthquake hits components of KP, AJK; no casualties reported

An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale jolted components of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Thursday, sparking panic amongst residents, although no casualties or damages have been reported up to now.

In line with the Nationwide Seismic Monitoring Centre — Islamabad, the earthquake’s epicentre was border area of Afghanistan and Tajikistan at a depth of 212 kilometres.

Earthquake tremors had been felt in Peshawar, North Waziristan, Decrease Dir, Malakand, AJK’s Neelum Valley and its suburban areas. Residents got here out of their houses and places of work in panic.
