LAHORE: The Punjab Wildlife and Parks Division on Wednesday seized a uncommon marsh crocodile throughout a raid in opposition to smugglers in Kasur district, Geo Information reported Wednesday. 

The seven-feet-long seized reptile is priced at tens of millions of rupees within the worldwide market and its meat and pores and skin is illegally offered overseas.

Authorities stated {that a} case was registered in opposition to the suspected smuggler concerned within the unlawful commerce of the animals and the recovered crocodile was shifted to the Gatwala Wildlife Breeding Centre.

Senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb lauded the efforts of wildlife division for the safety of animals.

“The safety of animal rights is being ensured within the province for the primary time,” she stated whereas shedding mild on the significance of wildlife preservation that performs a vital position in sustaining the ecosystem.
